An eight-city salary survey in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Foshan, Zhongshan, Huizhou and Shantou in Guangdong Province ended recently.

The survey covers 29 industries, 119 occupations and 1,522,143 persons.

Communication/telecom industry ranks No. 1 while the category of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishing is the last of the 29, according to the statistics.

Shenzhen has the highest pay followed by Guangzhou, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhongshan and Foshan.  Shantou has the lowest salary.
