On August 30th, nearly 100 principals of Guangzhou Community were invited to join the socializing activities of Guangzhou Community of the Hong Kong and Macao districts, and they also attended the opening ceremony of Guangzhou Fair on August 31st. Vice Mayor Cao Jianliao, on behalf of the Municipal Government, expressed the appreciation to the principles of the community for their long-term support to Guangzhou and their contributions to promote the communication and cooperation between Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao.

There are more than 800 thousand Guangzhou natives in Hong Kong and Macao, and they have formed many communities which have strong economic power and important social influence. By now there have been more than 270 from Hong Kong and Macao out of 370 honored citizens. Hong Kong and Macao investors have invested on more than 10 thousand projects directly which account for 70% of all the overseas invested projects. Besides, there are more than 100 enterprises in Hong Kong and Macao invested by Guangzhou citizens.
