Along with approaching of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games and the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Game, sporting facility construction in China is ringing in an unprecedented historic opportunity of development. In next few years, many grand sporting events such as the Beijing Olympics Games, the Guangzhou Asian Game, the Hong Kong East Asian Games, the Shandong National Games, the Guangzhou China National Games of Minorities, and the Shenzhen World University Games will be successively sponsored in China involving an investment for sports gymnasiums exceeding ten billion Yuan. Then sporting facility construction across China will be launched in full swing covering a huge amount of investment. The Guangzhou Asian Game, in the first ten years of the 21st century, is the largest sports event in Asia, which will trigger the greatest business opportunity for sports industry in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China and even the whole Asia. According to comprehensive forecasting implemented by Statistics Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality using two scientific approaches, Guangzhou’s GDP will be additionally boosted by 0.58% annually in virtue of hosting the Asian Game. Before 2010, thirty projects and urban infrastructure construction program covering construction of sports gymnasiums, Asian Games Village, press center and municipal works will be planned and developed involving a total investment exceeding 220 billion Yuan. Considering the impact of the Shenzhen World University Games and the Hong Kong East Asian Games, construction of sports gymnasiums in the whole area of Pan-Pearl-River-Delta will witness a booming prospect. When it comes to the period between 2007 and 2009 and the project of sports gymnasiums for the Asian Games is under official implementation, various decoration engineering projects for different gymnasiums will be massively carried out, which will offer golden opportunities to those enterprises that are eager to enter into local construction market of sports gymnasiums for the Asian Games. In response to such market demands, Administration of Sports of Guangzhou Municipality, along with efforts from other construction units engaged in construction of the Asian Games, has jointly organized the 2007 Guangzhou International Exhibition on Construction of Sports Facility & Gymnasiums for the Asian Games, which will be grandly opened between September 17 and September 19, 2007 in Guangzhou Jinhan Exhibition Center. The 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao International Sporting Goods Fair & the 8th Guangdong International Sporting Goods Fair will be opened at the same time in the same venue.
