A chemical truck blew up at about 8:16 this morning near Guangzhou's Sanyuanli Dadao Avenue.

The location of the massive explosion was just behind the Lotus Supermarket, according to witnesses. A mushroom-shaped cloud and pungent gas followed the explosion and black fragments littered the area as citizens rushed to find safe locations.
