The first Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Cartoon and Animation Exhibition opened on Wednesday in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong Province.
The five-day event is the biggest cartoon and animation show ever held in South China, according to the event organizers.
Cosponsored by the city government of Guangzhou and the Hong Kong Cartoon and Animation Festival Organizing committee, the exhibition takes "achievement and cooperation" as its theme.
The exhibition features a show of cartoon and animation works, a forum discussing the prospect of the industry and a competition on animation technology.
Leading cartoon producers from the three cities are all well-presented at the event, which has a total of 300 booths, covering a floor area of 12,000 square meters.
China produced its first cartoon movie in 1926. Hong Kong is famous for its annual cartoon and animation festival that started in 1999 and professionals in the sector.
