Guangzhou was appointed by the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League (CYL) as one of the first national social workers' experimental cities for youth affairs and the Haizhu District was appointed as an experimental urban area for the work. |

Currently, the social workers' experimental work of youth affairs has been carried out in full scale on Haidong Street, Chigang Street, and Huazhou Street.

On the afternoon of November 3rd, the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League invited Luo Guancui, Director of Sun Yat-Sen University's Social Work Education and Research Center to deliver a lecture to the CYL committee principals and youth affairs workers in the respect of core values, work philosophy, and the work methods of the social work for youth affairs.

It was learned that the main task of the program was to promote the methods of social work in handling youth work, establish specialized and professional social workers of youth affairs and solidly carry out the prevention work for the youth from illegal acts and criminal offenses and helping and educating work for the key adolescent groups.

The funds for the purchase of the services have mainly been paid by the first-degree finance of the districts and county-level cities for their youth. According to the principal of the Guangzhou Municipal CYL Committee, on the basis of the demands of the youth collected by social work volunteers, the government will openly recruit a group of youth affairs social workers, which is in charge of the Haizhu District.
