November 5, a Vietnamese woman was caught by the Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Customs, with 4,515 g of heroin hidden in the interlayer of her suitcase and cosmetic bottles. This is also the biggest drug trafficking case cracked here in recent years.
Since last August, 45 drug-trafficking cases have been cracked by Guangzhou Customs, with 70.79 kg of drugs confiscated and 44 suspects arrested.
Recent record shows that the number of female drug traffickers has been on the rise. In the last two weeks, 7 cases involving female drug traffickers were cracked. Most of the female suspects were from African or Southeast Asian countries.
On November 2 and 3, a Ugandan woman and a Thai woman were caught respectively, with drugs hidden in their bodies. By now, they have let out 109 heroin pills, 1,457 g in gross weight.
