The 2007 China (Guangzhou) International Documentary Film Festival, a major event for China's documentary film industry, will open on Monday and run through December 8.

The festival, centering round the themes of the Olympics and wildlife protection, provides a platform for the screening, appraisal and trading of documentaries. A total of 232 documentary films made in 39 countries and regions have been submitted to the festival.
