Wende Road, running parallel to Beijing Road, is one of Guangzhou's most famous places due to its more than one thousand years of history. It is also renowned for its calligraphy and painting markets, regularly visited by local intellectuals.
To continue its prosperity, Wende Road will introduce the Oriental Wende Plaza, an auction house and an identification center for authenticating true antiques.
The 15,000 square meter project has drawn an investment of 1.3 billion yuan.
Shops along Wende Road mainly deal in secondhand books, calligraphy, paintings and antiques. However, many traditional crafts are now facing a decline in the city.
