Over 100 people queued up to enter the annual Food Expo at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, just after opening this morning.
Exhibitors aim to attract food-lovers and their families by offering special promotions such as HK$100 for three ready-to-eat abalones and Hokkaido crabs at HK$140 a piece, down from the HK$200 a piece.
The number of exhibitors is up by 32 percent this year from the 480 participants at last year's event.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council is organizing the event. Visitor numbers are expected to smash a record 300,000 lured last year.
Three other fairs covering wine, health and Chinese medicine are to start at the same venue today.
