The first China International Comics Festival is to kick off on the evening of September 28th, 2008.
The festival is made up of four major activities: the awarding ceremony for the Original Animation & Comic Competition, the 2nd China Comic Artists Conference, an exhibition of comics & games from Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macau and the awarding ceremony for the 2008 National Collegiate Animation Competition which, namely the closing ceremony for the first China International Comics Festival, was scheduled to take place on the evening of October 5th at the stadium of South China University of Technology.
The 2nd China Comic Artists Conference would be held at the Dongfang Hotel on September 29th. It covers the first meeting attended by representatives from publishing houses across the nation, a forum for world-famous comic artists from countries including Australia, France, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan as well as exhibitions of comic works.
In addition, Guangzhou Comicfans Co., Ltd would sign with counterparts in Japan and Hong Kong a contract on cooperation in China's comic industry. By then, Ding Bing, a promising comic artist, would visit Japan. Moreover, more and more Chinese comic artists would go abroad to learn experience in the operation of the comic industry from advanced countries.
