Qingping Market, decades old, is one of the seventeen traditional Chinese medicine markets in the country, with average annual trading turnover of two billion yuan (256 million USD) amounting to 25 % of the national turnover. It is also the only market of its kind in Guangdong.
This nationally-recognized complex spreads out into several blocks along Liu Er San Lu and Qingping Lu in western old town. Split into two parts, it is quite a large area, covering some 114 thousand square meters.
In this one-stop-market shoppers can browse amidst an endless variety of Traditional Chinese Medicines, savoring the exotic fragrance of dried herbs and processed sea creatures. The price is quite reasonable.
